Beet the Vandel Buster is a manga and anime franchise written by Riku Sanjo and illustrated by Koji Inada. Sanjo and Inada described the partnership as a "50/50 between the know-how from the long years we've been a team, and tackling new difficulties." The manga was continuosly published by Shonen Jump until September 2006. It was put on hiatus ever since. It was however reported to be continued in the Spring 2016 issue of Jump Square. The anime consisted of 52 episodes, continued by Beet the Vandel Buster Excellion having 25 episodes. The North American endorsers of the anime Ilumitoon Entertainment, released the only DVD of its franchise; which consisted of 4 episodes with an English dub track. The conept of the franchise is where humans live in a "Dark Age", being attacked and killed by monsters, or vandels. Some people choose to slay Vandels undertaking a job as a "Vandel Buster". One of these busters, and the main protagonist of the franchise: Beet, is determined to end the Dark Age and kill all Vandels.
